Wow!This phone is amazing!!! I really want it but it is $149. I suppose I should save up. It looks way better than the sidekick I’ve been hoping for.

  2. Jareth on November 18th, 2008 at 1:23 am

yes it is better than the sidekick,
i have the sidekick now and it really was awsome at first but it got old really fast.
the behold really is the better choice ;)

  3. Ryan on November 20th, 2008 at 5:43 pm

  5. Anthony on November 23rd, 2008 at 8:16 pm

I got the samsung behold yesterday i preordered it so i cant get it till next weekend but i messed around with it at the tmobile store and it was the most amazing phone i have ever held in my hand. And it kicks the iphones but by a long shot it has the same apps and more….

  6. anon on December 15th, 2008 at 1:50 am

sorry to break it to you anthony, but although the behold’s a nice phone and I love it, it doesn’t hold a candle to the iphone

  7. boi on December 16th, 2008 at 3:47 am

yea but the iphone and behold have nithing on the tmobile g1

  8. Dawn on December 16th, 2008 at 11:37 am

actually with the iphone and g1 u cannot receive video messages or send video clips, the behold offers video calling where as g1 n iphone do not, the behold is great for web show broadcasters, and any1 who would like to keep in live touch through video conference with family, and friends. I moved away from fam n friends, sooo I decided to do a little research, and the behold may be the “iphone killer” the only reason iphone is what it is is because apple is a huge corporation, kinda comparing sony wit vizio vizio is cheaper but prob a greater quality.

  9. Bianca on December 17th, 2008 at 12:03 am

Love it love it love it. Its just Great!!!

  10. liz on December 17th, 2008 at 7:30 pm

i wanted an iphone ever since i saw it but ever since the samsung behold came out……ive changed my mind……it seems to kick the iphones ass.

  11. Will on December 20th, 2008 at 1:36 am

The iPhone is good because has the app store and whatever but without that it would suck but if the Behold had the app store it would be the best phone ever to be out! I don’t know if I should wait to get the Samsung Memoir…because its like a phone & camera back to back and it is a successor of the Behold; it has an 8-megapixel camera w/flash, 3.5 headphone jack, great apps & more to be discovered…I don’t know what I should do, any ideas?

  12. Barbara on December 27th, 2008 at 12:42 am

i just got the behold and i really like it, but if you want to be able to buy rigntones you have to have internet.

  13. Shea on December 29th, 2008 at 6:16 am

Yeah I think my fiance and I are going to go get the Behold tomorrow, we’ve researched it and it’s just the best phone ever basically!

  14. Val on December 29th, 2008 at 9:49 pm

i just order this phone & can not wait to get it in the mail in the next couple days! I have done alot of research & this looks like the best phone by far. I will have to compare it to my friends iphone when I finally get it in.

  15. jordan on January 2nd, 2009 at 7:01 am

OMG I CANT WAIT MONDAY WHEN I GET PAID I AM BUYING THIS PHONE I HAVE HEARD SO MUCH GOOD ON IT THE ONLY THING THAT I HAVE TO ASK IS IT BAD WITH ACTION PICTURES? IN OTHER WORDS A SLOW CAMERA?

  16. ashley on January 3rd, 2009 at 7:56 am

the camera is only somewhat slow because it captures a still picture even if your moving a little bit.
You dont notice it but you never really stand still, so the camera sets it action, and it takes the picture perfectly.

    Thats why.
You have to hold down the camera button.

  17. jordan on January 5th, 2009 at 1:16 pm

ok cool thanks ashley im so happy going to mall today to get it!

  18. Harrison on January 5th, 2009 at 9:59 pm

I have had the samsung behold for almost a month now, and so far it has been good. Yes it takes amazing pictures. there is a panoramic mode, smile detection and many different types of mosaics. also it has good flash. the only bad side to the camera, is that there is no way of turning off the shutter sound but what im surprised no one ever writes about is the great photo editing tools! you can edit the color, contrast and brightness. You can crop it and transform pictures. But what i like most is the ability to add effects such as diff. filters, styles and you can warp pictures to!!!! The video camera is very high quality for a phone. it was more than i expected. this is a video camera phone you will want to use. Records 10 min. and up. texting is some what a breeze, i just think the space bar should have been larger. Calling on the phone can get annoying if your are even remotely near any noise. its sad to say, the only bad part about this phone. is the phone itself. i have never lost a call, i always have amazing reception, no matter where i am. the 3G works GREAT! media messages are easy to send. The internet works well and loads most pages in 15-18 seconds, although google loads in 4-5 seconds which is nice. You tube is okay but the videos could show up bigger. but it does open them fast. The mp3 is a nice feature and since it holds up to 16g, i stopped using my old one because i have everything i could ever want to listen to on it! Another cool thing is the touch screen. it has great feedback and is easy to use. the widget bar on the main screen comes in handy also. well all in all its a great phone. i recommend it to anyone with T-mobile.

  19. TK Leader on January 13th, 2009 at 7:56 pm

Camera SUCKS!!! It takes 2-3 seconds to take a picture. It’s almost impossible to take kid picture. Don’t buy if you want a good camera phone! SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs!!!!!

  20. tyler on January 27th, 2009 at 4:17 am

Just ordered mine today… I’m big on NOKIA, i was gonna buy the N96, but this phone looks pretty good for 149.99. Let’s give it a try…
    REPLY TO: Dawn Said,

***The day VIZIO makes better quality than SONY, I’ll chop mine off and throw it in the river”

  22. tia on January 30th, 2009 at 9:01 pm

I just got the behold yesterday and I love it! Great camera…texting is a breeze and its way better than my sidekick. Took a lot to get use to but im getting there I find out something new everyday but to awnser the question about the shutter sound if you go to samsung-behold.com you can get to the tricks and it shows you how to take it off. But yea this phone is pretty good!

  23. Delwyn on February 1st, 2009 at 4:51 pm

I’ma get my behold soon since my contract is expiring so it’s time for me to get a new phone so I’m considering on getting the behold for it’s 3G web browsing, camera, etc. First i was gonna get the G1 but it big and I don’t really want a big phone but the Behold is way better than the G1

  24. elle on February 2nd, 2009 at 2:44 am

I’m considering getting this phone, but i was wondering what Instant messengers this phone has, is it only AIM? Or does it have MSN/Windows Live and yahoo?

  25. Chris on February 6th, 2009 at 3:30 am

Dude. I want the Behold hecka bad. Even though Im 10 in a half, the phone looks hecks cool. I’m getting in next week. I think maybe next friday. Iv’e gone to the T-mobile store and checked it out, I gotta say, It’s way, way way better then the phone I have now. I have the Nokia 3555, not the best phone. But I want this phone really bad. I can’t wait until i get it.

  26. Danielle on February 7th, 2009 at 3:54 am

hey i bought the behold at the end of december only had it for a week and had to call tmobile
and tell them that the phone was not working well ever time i make a call i will talk to some one for about 4 to five minutes then the phone will make a weird noise and i will be able to hear the person i am talking to but they want be able to hear me so any way tmobile sent me a second behold and now im having the same promblem and i only had this one a week or two as well so again i called tmobile to tell them the problem i am having again and they told me they will send me anthor one well what i am trying to say is that i paid 400.00 for the behold and it has been nothing but promblems and tmobiles rules are that u have to due three exchanges before they will let u pick a diffrent phone thats kinda messed up when you pay 400.00 for a phone and u keep having the same problem other than that the behold is great for pics, text just not good if ur on an important phone call and ur phone cuts out on u

  27. Pocahontas on February 7th, 2009 at 8:00 pm

    To Will:

Do what I’m gonna do, but the Behold and have fun with it. When the Memoir comes out, get that and sell the Behold on craigslist. It’ll sell fast if you beat the market price. Heck, it’ll sell fast if you go for $130 and it still costs $150. (Did it with my rumor when I switch carriers and got calls for days after i sold it.)

  28. TRUTH on February 20th, 2009 at 4:28 am

I have owned a samsung behold for 4 months now. It really is a frustrating phone for many reasons. PLEASE read this before making a final purchase. The first problem is the phones ring volume is very low and can not be heard in a social environment. On top of that every behold has a glitch to have only an increasing ring. Meaning your ring never starts loud, it is silent then slowly increases, making it even harder to hear. Then the text messaging setup is very stupid. When you click on the main message icon you cant write a text until you receive one or you have to open a completely different icon. Also when writing a message the keyboard isnt very accurate and even if you do hit the right keys the T9 system is turned on from the start and may change to a different word. But you can teach your T9 words but then again the T9 takes action on its own and capitalizes all programmed words.

  29. Gale on February 20th, 2009 at 3:41 pm

Thinking about getting the Behold. Does anyone know if it can sync with Microsoft Outlook?

  30. Jaime on February 23rd, 2009 at 3:17 pm

I just ordered my behold yesterday. Im really excited to get it!! Does anyone know if you can pic text? I read you can but i just want to make sure. I dont get on the web so i think it will be a fun phone! And i like that you can download songs and use them as your ringtone!!! It is a lot better looking then the iphone!! And the camera takes WAY better pics! Also you Don’t have to buy the media plan every month..you can have just a normal plan which is way cool if you dont have the extra cash to put out. Love it!!

  31. Forrest on February 26th, 2009 at 2:51 am

I like this phone, can get it at walmart for $78.88 yeah!!!!

  33. britta on March 5th, 2009 at 6:43 pm

ive had my behold for a week now …. i love it and i cant put it down! the only thing that i notice is the battery but it may be just cause i use it so often! the keyboard is very easy to use. may not recommend to people with big fingers. i don’t suggest you use it while driving since it is all touch screen. (at least the messaging part). other than that, the camera is amazing. i rarely use my actual camera. the only thing with the camera is the speed of when you click the button to take it to when it actually takes a pic. slow delay but i can deal with it. just can’t take pics of pets since they move all of a sudden. but the flash is great. its very user friendly. the sound quality is amazing. very chic phone. never thought id have a touch screen phone but of all the ones out there this is the only one that caught my eye and had all the features that i wanted on it. would recommend this phone to anyone!!

I am getting this phone on the 24th and I just wanted to know if you could upload pics to facebook?

  35. kiia on March 7th, 2009 at 12:15 pm

    Behold,The behold.
I’m getting mine on the 9th and I can’t wait.
I have the midnight blue sidekick and I feel like this is for the kids now. My sister has the behold in rose color and I fell in love with it. Mine is in espresso. I have the ipod touch so I would know how 2 work this phone with ease. I can’t wait until I receive this phone.

  36. Dee Dee on March 15th, 2009 at 2:24 pm

I’m considering the Behold but I’m worried about the comments regarding the “phone itself” not being good. It makes no sense to purchase a phone if the phone itself doesn’t work well. I’m a little worried about that. I also need to know if I would be required to purchase the $24.99 data to be able to send & receive picture messages. I know with the Blackberrys you are not required to have the data package but with the Sidekick you are.
Just want as much information as possible to I can make an educated decision. Don’t want to make a bad investment.

i just got my behold da other day for 20 bucks out the door at best buy and it works alright so far i dropped it twice and it still works but the only junk part is if u have big fingers it sucks ass fo real i have the hardest time txtn and as for games goodluck findin sum and everything else is mean i love my phone

  38. daniel on March 19th, 2009 at 8:21 am

does anyone no if there is video calling on the behold some adds say it offers this

  39. Ashley on March 21st, 2009 at 6:18 pm

The samsung behold in my opinion is awesome. If you want a good deal on the phone go to walmart and upgrade there or sign up for the contract, the phone there costs 78.88 plus tax. Thats better than paying 149.00 at t-mobile. You can send videos and picture texts and the keyboard works really good. Someone said that the keyboard is off with the letters, i havent had any problem with it or with the ring tone volume. you do not need to buy the data plan to send and recieve picture texts also, it counts just like a text message. Plus how the text is set on t9, if the word u want isnt on it u can add it for future refrence, I havent had any problem with that either, it has alot of words on it already if u dont like to spell words out fully. Overall this phone is great. I would recomend it to anyone.

  40. april on March 27th, 2009 at 7:04 am

im waiting on my behold right now and i cant wait i ordered it online and its killing me that i cant use it yet

  41. Butterfly on April 1st, 2009 at 7:56 pm

I purchased my Behold beginning of February. I had to exchange it the first week I got it. The screen completely froze. After that it was working great…up until a week ago. I went in and they exchanged it for me again, because i couldn’t use some of the functions on the phonebook page. Then it would text correctly…it would be really slow and the back button on the text page wouldn’t work. Well, so far so good….i haven’t had any problems since then and going on week two. I really really love this phone…i really hope i don’t have any more problems with it.
Also, I noticed that my icons are different from my friends. Mine are more like 3-D effect. She said she bought hers in December. Anyone know about that?
    Thanks….

  42. Dee on April 9th, 2009 at 5:24 pm

I currently have the T-mobile dash and the battery keeps dying really fast, I’m looking into buying another phone basically its the behold vs the sidekick. I am a texter and into picture taking. I prefer a full keyboard& have fairly large fingers, but oddly have no problem with little keys, I need a phone that’ll take a quick pic, that can send pictures and has a long lasting battery as well. I also spend a lot of time one the phone…I’ve read both ups an downs on each phone but cannot decide, can anyone help me out?

  43. Josh on April 11th, 2009 at 2:41 am

The phone is at most, OK. Nothing is upgradeable. There are no user addable apps, the camera takes almost 5 seconds to actually capture an image, and the ringer and SMS alert tones all start out muted to a degree and increase in volume as the phone continues to ring……and there is NO WAY TO CHANGE THIS SETTING. So if you’re voicemail is set to catch your calls real fast, you may never hear the phone ring. And lastly, the qwerty keypad accuracy royally sucks.

If I had known these things beforehand, I probably would never have bought this phone.

Caveat emptor, is all I have to say.

Oh, and Samsung has offered nothing as far as software upgrades, patches, updates, etc.

  44. Tia on April 20th, 2009 at 12:20 am

I got this phone in the mail today! It’s amazing! Worth the money. Before i bought the phone i wanted to get the iphone. But when I actually played with this phone at the store i just totally fell in love. Totally worth every penny. I absolutely love it, and it only charges in about 3 hours. That is perfect for me when i forget to charge it and i have a few hours. Though i dont have web, I am considering it! This phone is absolutely awesome!

i was in the same situation that all you guys are in right now. it was between the g1 or the behold. Well, i went with the behold. =( i wish i wouldn’t have. it stinks. i’ve had mine for 2 or 3 months and it shuts off randomly and the keyboard is hard. no matter if u think that ur a good txter….like i thought i was…well u wnt do too good on the behold. If i could redo my sellection betwween the behold and the g1 i wood totally choose the g1. PLus the Behold doesn’t have very good battery life. I was just in the tmoblie store a couple of days ago and thiss random lady came up to me and tolf me that my phone sucked. i said yes i no! she said tht she had the behold because it sucks, they day u have a 5 mp camera….u do on ur phone but if u try to download it to ur computer it’s not 5 mp. it’s ugly. it’s crap. well she said that she switched to the g1, and sold her behold on gazelle.com for $122. (my opinion i wood sell mine on ebay cuz u can get alot more money out of it!!!!!;) well i hoped that worked for all of u people out ther that was in the same situation that i was in…;))))) well l8rrr…

How do you change text message alert noise samsung behold? I never hear it with the one that was already programed.

  61. Cassy on September 20th, 2009 at 5:32 am

I’ve had the behold for over 10 months, and had to return it 2 times because it just randomly shuts off on me. When I called they told me that this is a “common problem” It’s been horrendous for me… It shuts off in the middle of phone calls, text messages, and while I’m on the internet… My friend from work also has the same problem, as well as everyone that I’ve met with the phone. If you can live with that, good for you! Anyways, I’m trading it in for a Mytouch… I’ve heard it’s an upgraded G1 (which I know to be very good) so we shall see…. Good luck!

HORRIBLE PHONE! DON’T BUY IT! i bot my samsung february 2009. had to have it replaced six months later – tmobile wouldn’t do it, samsung did it. tho i was in the dfw area, they had to mail it to me, and i had to pay shipping. plus, they sent me a refurbished phone. now, in december, i’m ready to trash it. i spend half the time trying to figure out what’s wrong with it. it’s a beautiful phone, great music and camera, nice to have internet and telnav, but it’s so slow compared to my honey’s iphone. i’m ready to keep it as a back-up with my 20 dollar pay-as-i-go sim card, and get the fast, app friendly fast fast fast iphone. i paid 400 cash for the phone, and it didn’t work well for four months. piece of crap.

My sister and I want this phone. We were going to order it but after reading these replies about it randomly shuting off, im starting to now think twice before making a decision.

  68. litlbit on February 18th, 2010 at 3:20 pm

Even though the behold is an older phone i decided to make this my first touch screen purchase over the newer ones. I did not read into reviews before my purchase and now i wish i had. I do NOT suggest buying this phone for any reason. It is inconsistant with every feature. Sometimes the phone cuts out or you cant hear well, sometimes the camera takes a minute to capture a pic, although i do like the features you can edit and send with the pictures. That is probably the best feature on this phone and even that isn’t great. I chose this over a MY TOUCH because i have long nails and this touch screen pics up my nails. But txting is awfull. the screen is not very accurate and freezes A LOT! I am on the third replacement for numerous issues technically as well as the silver part on the front chipped off after 3 months. Just a complete piece of garbage! TMobile will now send the replacement which will be the samsung memoir. This phone is supposed to be better all around, just a tad bigger in length. wish me luck!!!
