The Samsung Behold II has been launched as a sequel to the Samsung Behold which was getting a little old and dusty. This is the first smart phone to be released by T Mobile in the United States. This is the fourth Google Android device in a row to be launched by T Mobile. The Samsung Behold II is a great improvement in terms of looks as well as features on the Samsung Behold, its predecessor. Most of the flaws that were evident in the Samsung Behold have been done away with in the Samsung Behold II. The release date, although not finalized is tentatively around the first week of November. What we get to hear the most is that the phone is expected to release during the holidays so that people can look forward to something new coming up for the festive season. The time of release has been well planned and most probably Samsung will not delay it further as the market will be booming during the festive season and hence it is the apt time for the launch of a new phone.

The Samsung Behold II uses the hi tech latest Touch Wiz interface that you find in all the latest touch phones by HTC, Motorola and Samsung as well. The specialty of this interface is that it allows you to view your multimedia menu in the form of a cube. The cube has six faces and each of these faces is the shortcut to a particular multimedia application. These applications include music, photos, videos, the Web, YouTube, and Amazon MP3. The Amazon MP3 can be used to download your favourite songs from the Amazon website. The screen is also pretty impressive being a 3.2 inch AMOLED one. The tactile response is great and there is no delay in opening the applications. The screen also houses various widgets and other shortcuts that come in handy whenever you are in a hurry which is the case most of the time.

The other features that the Samsung Behold II includes are Bluetooth, Wi Fi, GPS and a 5 mega pixel camera. The GPS system is also pretty helpful in terms of locating and directing the way. You can find out the exact location of your friends and also trace your way there. The directions are accurate and time saving. Apart from this the 5 mega pixel camera comes with an LED flash and the feature of auto focus. This means that the camera works efficiently even at night and in low light conditions. The internal memory can be expanded to an impressive 16 GB with the help of a micro SD slot. This smart phone will also have the 3G technology which will make web browsing and downloading a pleasurable experience. With the Samsung Behold II all set to hit the market in November every one is eager to get a closer look at this very promising phone. The full specifications are expected to be out in around October, a few weeks before its official launch.

We’ll let you be the judge of that. We’ll go ahead and focus on the most important part: “The Samsung SGH-T939 is a GSM phone, featuring a 3.2-inch AMOLED full touchscreen and WiFi connectivity, giving users access to Google Mobile services and full web browsing at blazing speeds.”

It’s the Google Mobile services that have the rumors going, but let’s break it down. The Behold was a decent phone that packed TouchWiz, Samsung proprietary OS, and really nothing else of note. Samsung has a huge crush right now on AMOLED displays, as it even appears on their Android i7500 (Galaxy) over in Europe. The screen size (3.2?) on the Behold 2 seems to be a perfect fit for another Android device. But, ironically enough, it’s the “access to Google Mobile services” that seem to be the most off-setting. A quick search (via Google, no less) of “Google Mobile services” brings up the standard fair: Google Mail, Google Maps, Google Search, and YouTube. This could go either way, as having “access” to them could mean just being able to use the browser to view them. Or, as it would on an Android device, have the applications right on the device.

The original Behold found its way to the T-Mobile USA network, and there’s no reason to think the sequel won’t as well. The big questions, like release date and price, will be coming later. But, is this the first time Android won’t be issued on a hugely high-profile device? Or are we going to be surprised by the upcoming phone from Samsung?

Samsung is a reputed mobile manufacturing company that delivers high quality mobiles every now and then. It aims at providing better mobiles having outstanding features and great qualities as well. It aims higher and higher for the development of mobiles according to the new technology and it seems to be never satisfied with itself, since the company tries to bring one great mobiles one after the other. Having said this, let us compare three of the biggest mobiles that Samsung has brought forward recently. They are Samsung Memoir, Samsung Behold and Samsung Omnia. Let us see in details what every phone has to offer and check whether they are really the best mobiles available or not.

To begin with, let us consider Samsung’s latest creation- Samsung Memoir. It is a high budget mobile that comes in with a huge cost trying to impart latest technologies in a mobile. Officially, The Samsung Memoir, which is also known as SGH-t929, has been released by T-Mobile. It can also be bought individually, without T-Mobile. Going at the looks, it does not disappoint us, fitting absolutely well in what the modern world is seeking for. The entire screen of the mobile is touch screen based and only 3 buttons in the end makes it design add some classic look. It also resembles with iPhone but certainly, the features of the mobile are not comparable to any other phone since it is a distinguished phone of its own.

Speaking of the features, Samsung Memoir comes in with 8 mega pixel camera. Now this is what most of the digital camera also do not offer. This phone is best know for its camera quality, which is better than most of the digital camera found anywhere across the globe. The only disappointing thing is that it takes awful lot of time to focus properly. The zooming quality is also poor to be honest. With every zoom, the picture becomes less good in quality and at 16X zoom; it is just like an ordinary VGA mobile picture quality. Battery life of the cell is great and lasts for more than 5 hours when fully charged, under full normal operation. The phone comes in with high speed 3G but sad to see that Wi-Fi is missing in the cell. With such features and quality, this set will be rated as overpriced according to me and gets a decent 6 out of 10 from me.

Samsung Behold, on the other hand, is a great touch screen phone recently launched by Samsung. Starting with the design, it is nicely built mobile that offers cool design that will be well suited for this generation of touch screen mobiles. Though the LCD screen is not too wide, it offers a perfect resolution and greater color display. It is less in weight and weighs just around 4 ounces. The 3 inches wide screen displays a great resolution of vibrant colors as well. The mobile can hold about 2000 contacts and is full of features like every other normal phone has to offer.

Speaking of the camera, it has a 5 mega pixel camera which gives great picture quality and also has loads of features like auto focus, brightness control, color effects, anti shake features and more. The 3G network is decent but surely it could have been faster. The things that are worthy of appreciation in the mobile are the attractive deign, features and photo qualities of the mobile. However, the speakerphone is average in quality and absence of Wi-Fi again adds to the negative features of this mobile. In ranking terms, I would be pleased to give this mobile 7 out of 10 and it makes a good phone according to me.

Now speaking of the Samsung Omnia, I have to tell that recently, this mobile is into a lot of hype. The actual ratings of the mobiles are not that great according to some latest reviews, but users are finding this mobile a great piece to own. Samsung omnia is one of the best phones that has been bought forward by Samsung in recent times. This statement would be justified as this mobile is filled with tons of features that everyone would love to have on their mobiles. The light weight phone, weighing around 125 grams, is designed to perfection and surely, the design looks great and can compete with the best mobiles we have in this touch screen based generation. It is slim, sleek and full of amazing portability. The touch screen is slightly bigger than 3 inches and can give amazing high quality resolution full of vibrant colors. Speaking of the features, it comes in with 5 mega pixel camera which gives you perfect quality pictures. It also has a flash feature by which we can even have brighter and better images. The camera is good but does not stand out to the competitors of this mobile.

Going into the technical features, Samsung Omnia comes in with 16 GB of memory which is more than enough to store thousands of videos and countless music files in it. The 3G network is fine and runs great into the mobile with high speed connectivity. Another feature worth mentioning that is present in this mobile is the DLNA networking presence which is very useful in sharing media. The cons, however, of this great mobile is its battery life, which is not at par with other mobiles in its field. Apart from that, Windows in mobile makes it a bit sluggish as well. But having said this and by comparing all the features that this mobile possess, it will not be false to claim that Samsung Omnia is one of the best smart phones that is available from all the mobiles across the globe. Omnia is certainly one of the best mobiles of Samsung and I would love to give it 8.5 out of 10 for its worth. A perfect smart phone from Samsung!

Both the iPhone 3G and Samsung Behold are evenly matched, but the latter does have the edge when it comes to multimedia messaging, video recording and voice dialing. I am an iPhone user and I hate that the phone lacks these features, but we hope that a firmware update will correct this small issues.

It seems that ever since the iPhone was released, every wireless carrier is rushing to release their flagship touchscreen phone. Everyone wants to be the best, so they are all competing for the most features and the most power. From Blackberry to Google, almost everyone has already released theirs. Well, Samsung may have taken a little longer, but they definitely used that time to pack their phone full of features. The question, though: Is it enough? Can Samsung’s new baby compete with all of this powerful competition? Let’s take a look and find out.

At first glance, the Samsung Behold T919 looks similar to most phones of its type. The sleek, sexy design is the perfect answer to what modern consumers are seeking. Compared side-by-side with most of the touchscreen phones, it is a little bit smaller – which does mean that the screen is a little smaller as well. There is no keypad, of course, so most of the phone’s face is dedicated to the screen, helping to maximize usable space. Total resolution is 240 pixels wide by 400 pixels tall, which is quite good for a phone!

The three slender buttons at the bottom of the bright, crisp screen offer basic functionality. The larger button in the center is a “Back” button for navigating the touchscreen, and the small buttons on either side can be used for making calls.

Overall, the phone looks like what you’d expect, and doesn’t vary much from the tried-and-true design for touchscreen phones. It is very eye-catching, and is sure to get you some glances whenever you pull it out to snap a high-resolution camera using it’s built in flash, or to check your email on T-Mobile’s blazing fast 3G network.

The Samsung Behold caters to the trendy, tasteful crowd who has maybe a little bit of a high-end geeky edge to them. The target audience for this phone is a 21 to 35 year old individual who is business oriented, but still wants to have lots of fun on the side.

Like most of its competition, the Samsung Behold T919 does not come cheap. If you buy it outright without signing into a service contract, it will cost you $399. However, sign-up promotions along with a new service contract will bump you down to the $150 range – which is very competitive for a touchscreen phone that is this powerful.

Everyone seems to compare each new phone of this type to the one that started the trend: Apple’s iPhone. This review would not be complete if we didn’t do so as well. Side-by-side, the Behold’s smaller profile makes it more comfortable to carry around in your pocket, while the screen is only a little bit smaller than the iPhone’s. The 5 megapixel camera on the T919 blows the iPhone’s out of the water, even though Apple did include a capable camera.

One of the biggest selling points of the iPhone is its computer-like web browsing experience. The browser on the T919 isn’t quite as good as Safari, but it still provides a very enjoyable experience. Like the iPhone, the Behold has built-in sensors to determine screen orientation, and will rotate from portrait to landscape as needed. If web browsing isn’t your number one priority, the Samsung Behold will probably provide a better overall experience.

Now, T-Mobile has done something kind of odd. They have released two competing phones under their own name. One of the Samsung Behold’s largest competitors is the T-Mobile G1 powered by Google. They are largely different in many ways, but they are still very much competitors. Unlike the Behold, the G1 has a full featured pull-out keyboard, which adds functionality – but also increases thickness. The screen is also a little larger, which is easier on the eyes, but again, it makes it bigger overall. The camera and the hardware of the Samsung blows the G1 out of the water, but the Google-based software on the G1 is definitely better. The camera isn’t as good on the G1, and it has less power and memory than the T919 does. However, one area where the G1 excels over the Behold is wi-fi. The G1’s got it, the Behold doesn’t.

The Samsung Behold and the Samsung Instinct are somewhat similar. The software and interface have a lot in common, and you can see where Samsung took ideas from the Instinct for this phone. Think of the T919 as an Instinct with a hardware upgrade, since they have so much in common. They have taken what they have done right on several phones in the past, and combined it all into one “super phone”. Side-by-side, the Behold definitely has more options than the Instinct.

One of the most innovative things about this phone is their TouchWiz interface, that gives you complete control to customize your interface as much as you wish. Like the iPhone and even Windows Vista, the Behold allows for various widgets on your desktop. You can place your favorite tools and applications right under your nose so you don’t have to pull them up each time. You can also pull up “mini” versions of your favorite applications, such as the music player, so they can be interacted with from a corner of the screen. This is multitasking at its finest!

Now, we’ve covered some of the pros of this phone, but everything has it’s drawbacks. Let’s take a look at some of the negative aspects of the Samsung Behold. First, the internal memory only holds 180 MB, which is ridiculous when you’ve got 5 megapixels at your disposal that can also record video. Thankfully, it does have a memory card slot, just be prepared to purchase a large card in addition to the phone.

The web browser on the Samsung Behold T919 isn’t quite as good as some of the other mainstream phones in its class. Zooming in is awkward, and requires a button press each time you want to change the zoom level. Most pages load okay, but some just aren’t compatible and end up looking skewed and misformatted.

Finally, we have to fess up to one of the worst parts about the Samsung Behold: there is no wi-fi option, at all. There are no plans for one in the foreseeable future. If wi-fi is something you would use a lot, you might want to take a look at a different phone.

In summary, the Samsung Behold T919 is a very powerful phone that gives the competition a run for their money. If this phone suites your needs, it would make a great choice.

The T-Mobile G1 Phone is always being compared to the Apple iPhone 3G, but that is an unfair fight. Maybe the first Google Android powered phone should be compared to something that is more on a level with the handset, like the Samsung Behold.

The specs on both are impressive, but you can’t help but notice how much better looking the Behold is, but Samsung have a knack of designing nice looking phones. The Samsung has a 3-inch LCD color touch screen, 5 megapixel camera and camcorder with flash and auto-focus, included 1GB microSD Card and an HTML web browser. The Samsung Behold sounds impressive on paper.

The T-Mobile G1 has a slightly larger 3.2-inch TFT-LCD flat touch-sensitive screen; the camera is a lower 3.2-megapixel with auto-focus and only has a 192.0 MB built-in memory. Overall the hardware on the Samsung Behold is a much better handset, but it is the software on the T-Mobile G1 that’s makes it a good phone.
